Sandrauðr - Hannah W

Sandrauðr is a little known Vanir. She was born in Vanaheim, but has spent almost her entire life in Asgard, and remembers little about it. She aspires to be told of in legends like the greatest of the Aesir, but so far she is known by few, and only for having successfully tamed one of Asgard's mighty wild horses.

The Hunt

Four wolves burst forth from the bushes, scattering snow in their wake, racing. Racing fast after their prey. The leader wears a ginger coat, speckled in white snow.

Their quarry, a beast many times their size, but fleeing still. Hoof-prints in the snow.

The youngest pair pace ahead, ready for the kill, their mother watching over them with pride. They grow faster and faster and leap. One lands upon the shoulders of the best, jaws stuck into the shoulders, the other clinging to the side.

Now the other wolves catch up, the mother's mate keeping a pace behind the ginger wolf. They leap, dragging the beast down.

The family feast, victorious in their hunt.

The Exchange

The Annals of Gridgard, compiled by Ridisnir in memory of all that occurs there.

… the guests for the wedding arrived to Gridgard, travelling from all the other realms to join Sandraudr and Jeffrey Rayne. I have even seen that Sandraudr's parents traveled from Vanaheim, after so long rekindling the connection with their daughter…

… the sword that Sandraudr's mother brought for her hangs by Sandraudr's side. By Jeffrey's side a sword of Midgardian design, intricately inlaid with a red filigree down the long blade…

… exchanging vows and swords in Asgardian fashion…

The Extended Family

The gathering was small, but warm and friendly. Sandraudr and Metis' hall was brightly lit and low, drawing those seated around the hearth closer together. The two sat right beside the fire, Metis half-way through some tale.

Across from them, Jormungandr and Ormfrid lay together in an embrace - oblivious to the story, but lost together in their own thoughts. Finnfrodr, Reysa, Olrik and Aetta in cheerful rapture to the tale to one side, opposite Andr and Resa.

The tale draws the evening to a close as the fire turns to a dark red.

The last lines are spoken by Sandraudr as all delight in their companionship.
